And now the end is here, the 3DXM must face that final curtainMy friend it's been replaced, a better tyre of which I'm certain

Some people like to try different tyres on the bikes, Michelin this time, Dunlops the next time.

Others stick to a specific tyre but will progress as the tyre does.... Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3 on the bike will get replaced by the newer, better and more expensivier Diablo Rosso 4.

Then some others just love 1 tyre, they know it works for them and they stick with it.... forever..... and ever.
Until it's no longer available.

The prize for the most loyal fanbase of a single tyre goes to those who appreciate the Avon Storm 3DXM.

Avon released the Spirit ST back in 2017 as the upgraded replacement for the 3DXM, keeping the 3DXM on as a lower price option which just made people love them more.

Occasionally, like all the manufacturers, Avon would run out of stock and we'd get calls & emails asking us to supply some, but we couldn't so we'd do the natural thing of offering the Spirit ST but people just didnt want to know. The usual reply would be 'I'll get 300 miles more out of this tyre I'll call you back after 300 miles and hope you have stock'

There is now no more stock, ever, they've gone and what will become of those loyal fans of the tyre?
I think half of them have 2 spare sets in their sheds ready.

Some will drift over to the Spirit ST for sure, but others will just try another brand.

The true benefits of the 3DXM are not unique to it, they did grip well in wet or dry weather, they did give good mileage but so do other tyres so there will be viable options at varying price levels.
