Some considerations regarding tyre loads.
The weight of a motorcycle is not always balanced nearly 50% front and 50% rear
The weight of a motorcycle will shift under acceleration and braking.
In general, a certain tyre size will only have 1 load rating... eg a 180/55/17 tyre will have a load rating of 73
Occasionally there are tyres which are marked RF for re-enforced which will have a larger load rating that the non-RF tyre.
This may give a choice of 2 tyres the same size but with 2 ratings, choose the correct one for your bike.
About the Author
Hi I'm Ian. Things I write on here may not be super professional, might be a bit rambling at times but hopefully there is some useful information amidst all of my nonsense. I ride a beautifully green Kawasaki ZX10R and the Akropovic exhaust is obviously very very real and not just a sticker ... and it wasn't me who put the super tacky number plate on it. Mine is the only bike in Sticky Stuff which hasn't got suitcases all over it, which means I'm the cool one.
