Which is better, a Metzeler made in Germany, or a Metzler made in China?

First things first, if you don't know who the chap in the picture is, you need to watch an Episode of Father Ted called 'Are You Right There FatherTed?' ... where Ted foolishly does a Chinaman impression which was witnessed by 2 Chinese men.

And to make Ted's feelings clear... HE IS NOT A RACIST!!

Recently we have had several customers asking 'Are these Metzelers made in Germany or China?'.. with 1 chap stating he would only purchase them if they were German made.

There are lots of points to look at here....

Chinese manufacturing WILL make poor quality products to sell super cheap as unbranded items. They will have next to no quality control and there will be no customer support, no refunds and no returns.

Chinese manufacturing CAN and DO make high quality products, they make parts for your BMW, your KTM, your Suzuki. You are buying an item that's met the approval standards of KTM etc, and if there is a problem you can send that part back to KTM.

Metzeler is a premium brand, they are owned by Pirelli.
Metzeler has been making plastic and rubber products since 1863.
They have a name that they are proud of, products they are proud of, and quality that they are proud of.

All tyres made by Metzeler, no matter where in the world, are all made to the exact same specifications and are tested to the exact same quality controls. Pirelli and Metzeler have, probably, the highest level of QC testing. Every tyre gets scanned by lasers and computers.

So yes, I get people's concerns... but.... this is about Metzeler, not about China... and Metzeler IS a name you can trust so please... please...... don't be a tyre racist.

I have to admit..... I have been guilty of tyre racism myself.... there is a brand, we sell them... called CST

and younger me did used to refer to them as Cheap S**t Tyres, or Chinese S**t Tyres.. but I've become a better person and I can safely say that CST make some decent rubber!

So please do remember, Ted is NOT a racist.
